Consultation Agreement
Thank you for your interest in Robertson Law LLC. Please complete this form if you would like to speak with us about potential representation.
We will review the information you have provided and respond regarding next steps. For most new matters, including trademark clearance and prosecution, we typically require a paid consultation. In some situations, we may recommend a no-fee introductory call to determine whether we are a good fit for each other. For select matters, we may agreed to provide a complimentary consultation.
1. Purpose. The purpose of the consultation is to help you determine whether you wish to engage the Firm to provide legal services. During the consultation, we will endeavor to learn about your legal needs, discuss our services, help you determine your course of action, and discuss the Firm's fees, required retainer, and terms of representation if an attorney-client relationship is to be established after the consultation.
2. Limited Scope. No attorney-client relationship is intended to be established by the consultation. At the conclusion of the consultation, there is no obligation for you to retain the Firm, nor do we have an obligation to provide services to you.
3. Confidentiality. All information and documents that you provide to the Firm prior to or during the consultation will be kept confidential, whether or not you decide to retain the Firm to provide legal services, except as authorized by you or otherwise provided under the applicable Rules of Professional Conduct.
4. Reliance Limited. It may not be possible for us to achieve all of goals outlined above, to fully assess your matter or identify all issues during the time allotted for the consultation. Accordingly, any advice or strategy we provide at the consultation is subject to revision.
5. Engagement Letter Required. Following the consultation, if you wish to engage the Firm to represent you, and if we agree to do so, then we will prepare a separate, more detailed engagement letter to be executed by both parties. The engagement letter will supersede this Consultation Agreement and will set forth the terms and conditions of our representation of you, including the amount of your retainer payment, our fees, and the specific services to be performed by the Firm.
6. Next Steps. Once you complete this form, we will review the information you have provided and respond regarding next steps. For most new matters, including trademark clearance and prosecution, we typically require a paid consultation. In some situations, we may recommend a no-fee introductory call to determine whether we are a good fit for each other. For select matters, we may agreed to provide a complimentary consultation.
7. Fees and Booking. We will advise you of the fee for a paid consultation in advance and it will be set forth on the booking page where you can schedule your appointment. We do not provide refunds on consultations - payments are deemed earned and non-refundable when made. If we have agreed to provide a credit in the event you engage the Firm after the consultation, the credit will be deducted from your retainer fee or applied to your first invoice. If you need to reschedule, you must contact us 24 hours in advance.
